CEIPES is proud of the project “Young People in Action – Inclusion and Participation” of the Universal Civil Service, which will give the opportunity to work with 4 young peopleunder 30 in Palermo for one year .

What is the Universal Civil Service?

The Universal Civil Service is a voluntary choice to dedicate a few months of one’s life to the defense service, unarmed and non-violent, of the Fatherland, to education, to peace among peoples and to the promotion of the founding values of the Italian Republic, through actions for the community and for the territory.

TheprojectYoung People in Action – Inclusion and Participation” is part of the program “Inclusion workshop for the most vulnerable – Southern Italy” of FOCSIV

Theproject – lasting 12 mesi –aims to encourage the inclusion of young people in conditions of fragility in the Municipality of Palermo, in particular NEET and foreigners, contributing to the empowerment and development of the potential of an entire generation, and creating an imaginary that is more consistent with reality with respect to the groups of people most discriminated against, raising awareness among the population, in particular the young people, regarding the issues of human rights and solidarity.

Activities

The volunteer workers who will work at the CEIPES, through the activities of our center, they will develop the non-emerged potential of young people in vulnerable conditions, activating innovative and stimulating training courses and accompanying them on a path of empowerment that will have positive effects on the whole community.

In particular:

  • Support in the creation and updating of a database of young people interested in the proposed activities through the organization’s ordinary communication channels, such as e-mails, social networks, newsletters.
  • Support the construction of a network with the involvement of other bodies and associations of the neighborhood and the city for the regeneration of the territory, including the offer of a co-working service, managing contacts and communications with organizations, reservations and participating in meetings.
  • Collaborate in the preparation and implementation of various cultural events, such as events, exhibitions and cineforums to encourage the active participation of NEETs and migrants in the life of the community, contributing to logistical, implementation and promotion activities.
  • Support the organization of training courses with the management of enrollments, teaching, the administration of evaluation questionnaires and certifications.
  • Collaborate in the development of information and promotional materials and promotion of activities through online and face-to-face initiatives.
  • Support in promoting the educational escape room, setting up the room, organizing visits with interested groups, managing and evaluating the experience.
  • Collaborate in the promotion and management of guided tours of the Empowerment Museum within the CEIPES office.
  • Supporting in the implementation of meetings, cultural exchanges and non-formal education workshops with young people from other countries and cultures to promote interculturality and the overcoming of stereotypes and prejudices.
  • Collaborate in the search for opportunities and the development of new project proposals to promote European mobility, offer volunteer and solidarity opportunities abroad to young people and promote opportunities for personal growth within the world of solidarity

Volunteers will work for the weekly hours scheduled within the opening hours of the offices 9-13/14-18, from Monday to Friday. It is also required to work outside these hours or on weekend days in exceptional cases of sporadic events. The office will be closed for two weeks in August and for a maximum of seven days in December for the Christmas holidays.

Candidate Selection

The requirements to participate in the call are:

  • Italian citizenship, or of one of the member states of the European Union, or of a country outside the European Union as long as the candidate is legally resident in Italy;
  • Having completed the eighteenth year of age and not having passed the twenty-eighth year (28 years and 364 days) on the date of submission of the application;
  • Not having been sentenced, even if not final, to the penalty of imprisonment of more than one year for non-culpable crime or to a penalty, even of a lesser extent, for a crime against a person or relating to possession, use, port, transport, import or export illegal use of weapons or explosive materials, or for crimes relating to belonging to or aiding and abetting groups, terrorists or organized crime.

To apply

To apply for the Universal Civil Service, an application must be submitted by 10th February.

Aspiring volunteer workers can submit the application solelythroughthe Online Questions platform(DOL) accessible via PC, tablet and smartphone

To access the application filling and submission services on the DOL platform, the candidate must be recognized by the system.

  • Italian citizens residing in Italy or abroad and citizens of non-European Union countries legally residing in Italy they can only access it with SPID, the Public System of Digital Identity. On the website of thePublic System of Digital Identityall the information for the SPID is available.
  • Citizens belonging to a European Union country other than Italy or to Switzerland, Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein, who still cannot have the SPID, and citizens of non-European Union countries awaiting the issue of a residence permit, can access DOL platform services upon request of appropriate credentials to the Department, according to a procedure available on the home page of the platform itself.

Candidates will be able to identify their favorite project through a specific search engine and fill in the application, which can only be one for the entire call. The system will let you know in time the number of applications already received for each project, so that the choice can also be more weighted, reducing the dispersion of applications on projects with another number of applications but with few places.

IT WILL BE VERY IMPORTANT TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE SUBMISSION OF THE APPLICATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE CORRECTNESS OF THE DATA INSERTED

The day after submitting the application, the candidate will receive the receipt of attestation of the application submitted with an assigned protocol number. You can cancel your application and submit a new one up to the day and time of the notice deadline.
